Swanland Village Association

The Swanland Preservation Society was formed in 1987, primarily to fight the proposed Beech Hill development. In 1989 it was renamed the Swanland Village Association (SVA) to reflect its growing range of activities. Since then it has evolved to be a dynamic force within the village responsible for many new initiatives. In a nutshell, the SVA exists primarily to keep Swanland a pleasant place to live. It works closely with the Parish Council and other local Authorities. If the SVA cannot deal with some issues we may suggest that you approach the appropriate Councillor or MP
The SVA aims to represent the views of ALL villagers, not just SVA members. However, new members are always welcome to involve more people – it only costs £2 per year - see Join the SVA. An annual general meeting, open to the public is held annually at which the committee are elected. Committee meetings are held every two months. .The SVA operates this website and sends out update e-mails of loca news. An SVA News Letter is produced every 4 months and the Swanland Signpost information booklet every few years. Both of these publications are delivered free to every household in the Village.SVA Member's News Letters are produced to keep members informed of current activities.
Past and present SVA involvements include: The SVA has helped to instigate:

Organising Neighbourhood Watch
Assisting the Parish Council to produce a Village Design Statement
