Swanland Playing
Field Association

Swanland Playing Field is there for you to use. It is located at West Wold, off West Leys road and is open each day until dusk. The car park at the playing fields is often full, especially at the weekend. A lot of people with young children come, many from nearby villages. Facilities include:

Young children’s play area, ramps and mounds for young teenagers. Sports area with three football pitches, a cricket pitch, a netball pitch and a BMX track.

Our pavilion has four changing rooms, four toilets (one for the disabled), a referee’s room, showers, a kitchen and social area that opens onto a west-facing patio. It can be hired for meetings and other events.

Please support your local playing field. We organise discos, race nights, fashion shows, play and supper evenings, the gala, open gardens etc.

If you can suggest other activities that you and your friends would support please contact:

The playing fields are NOT run by the council. The council fund the lease and maintenance of the site, but development costs are covered by the fund-raising activities of the playing field committee.

All the play equipment in the playground area was provided through fundraising. It has cost tens of thousands of pounds.

The committee also takes care of the day to day running of the facilities. A small band of unpaid volunteers work tirelessly to raise funds and run the facility.

Many hands make light work –you can help us by organising fund raising and sports activities, or just by painting, digging or weeding.
