CHILDRENS PLAY AREA
WE are very disappointed at the activity taking place in the children’s play area at the moment. It is very busy and it takes a great deal of time and effort to provide facilities for the children that we are often told, are second to none in this area. People come from almost all of the local villages and Beverly bringing their children to enjoy the facilities. These include the toilets, drinks and the tuck shop. None of this happens on its own!!

Two or three weeks ago parts of the Junior slide were torn apart and made dangerous to the extent that it could not be used without significant repairs.

Now a repetition has occurred on the same slide but in different places. The result is the same it is very dangerous and cannot be used until repairs are completed. Repairs cost money and money spent on such things cannot be spent on new items or other improvements.

Another item of particular annoyance relates to the use of waste bins. These are regularly emptied by hand as we do our best to recycle bottles and cans. There are requests on the notice board in an attempt to persuade mothers with babies to ensure that where nappies are put in the waist bins they should be well wrapped up and put in a separate plastic bag! This request is regularly ignored and you can imagine what an unpleasant task results!

GALA
The annual gala is once more upon us and by the time you read this will have been completed, successfully, we hope. At present we have experienced more difficulties than usual. Some have been brought about by illness and others by annual holidays.

These we are able to overcome with luck but the weather is another matter and for this we are in the hand of the gods. It has looked good so far. is this our lucky year?
