FOOTBALL
At last the pitches are recovering and it may be possible to play many of the outstanding games in the next few weeks. We may even be possible to keep the goals up during the first week or two of the cricket season. It is intended to seed the pitches before football finishes since the player’s studs will plant much of the seed whilst it is damp and they are playing
MUGA
Discussions are taking place with representatives of East Riding County Netball Association. It is hoped that local teams will utilize the pitch during the summer. Fundraising has been difficult over the last few months since the bad weather has meant seven or eight blank weekends.
No football means no tuck shop and no tuck shop means no money.
This has prevented us from flagging the approach
GALA VOUNTEERS for 11 July
Volunteers are not coming forth in great numbers. This is not unusual. However please consider whether or not you can provide a couple of hours on this one occasion during the year for the benefit of children in the village.

CRICKET
For the whole of last season we were looking for a volunteer to prepare the wickets. We have continued unsuccessfully for the 2010 season. The consequence of our failure last season may mean
that teams using the facilities last year looking elsewhere because of the dangerous wicket.
Clearly it needs much more watering when it is dry and long periods of regular rolling throughout the season. Only this will prevent the surface from being vicious.
JUNIOR CRICKET
When the season begins Hull Zingari will continue to run cricket training for the junior boys and girls on Friday evenings. The times are 6 until 8 pmwith matches from time to time on the square.
It is likely during the season that there will be more 20 over matches than usual since Zingari are levelling the square at their own base.
They have asked to use our square more frequently.
SATURDAY GAMES
North Ferriby Cricket Club are to use our facilities on Saturdays alternating with Hull Zingari. This is particularly welcome and we have asked NFCC to maintain and prepare all the wickets during the season. They have their own equipment in North Ferriby but will use own as all of it has been serviced and sharpened during the winter.
OTHER CRICKET
There will of course be the usual extra games on Sundays and evenings during the week
